Fix Small ROES Client Display on a 4K Monitor

Use this article when the ROES Client displays too small on a Windows PC with a 4K monitor.

Common symptom

On a Windows PC with a 4K monitor, the ROES Client interface appears too small to use comfortably.

This is a Windows-only display scaling issue. Correct it by changing the high DPI compatibility settings for ROESWebStart.exe.

Go to the ROES Client installation folder:

C:\Program Files(x86)\ROES\<FOLDER4CLIENTNAME>\ROESWebStart.exe

The <FOLDER4CLIENTNAME> folder will be named something like the lab name followed by many numbers and letters.

Highlight ROESWebStart.exe, right-click it, and select Properties.

In the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab.

Click the Change high DPI settings button.

In the High DPI scaling override section, check Override high DPI scaling behavior.

After checking that box, change the drop-down from Application to System.

Click Apply or OK, then close all windows.

Relaunch the ROES Client and confirm the display size is corrected.

After the high DPI scaling override is set to System, the ROES Client should display at a more usable size on the 4K monitor.

Confirm the customer is using a Windows PC with a 4K or high-DPI monitor.
Confirm the setting was applied to the correct ROESWebStart.exe for the affected ROES Client.
If multiple ROES Client folders exist, repeat the DPI setting on the specific client folder being launched.
