ROES hangs during launch at "Creating Products" on a Mac

On some Mac systems, ROES desktop may hang during launch at "Creating Products" and never draw the screen.  To fix this issue in most cases:

Using Finder, in the top menu select Go and Go to folder and in the dialog type in

~/.the labname value (see below to find name of hidden folder if unknown)

And press enter or ok. The folder list should open in Finder and open the labname.properties file in TextEdit. Add the following line

explicitusejcef=false

And save the file, then try to launch again.

To find hidden Files on a Mac:

To show hidden files in Finder on a Mac, you can use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + . (period):

Open Finder

Navigate to the folder where you want to find hidden files (your user home folder)

Press Command + Shift + . (period)

Hidden files - starting with a period - will appear translucent in the folder.  Look for the lab's name or their name for the ROES application in some form for what you should enter above in the Go to dialog.

To hide the files again, press Command + Shift + . again.
